Coyotes Trade Vermette To Hawks For Dahlbeck, First Round Pick
Capitals Trade Hillen To Canes For Gleason
The Capitals have traded defenseman Jack Hillen to the Hurricanes for defenseman Tim Gleason, the team announced.
The Capitals also sent back a fourth-round 2015 draft pick in the deal. That pick was previously acquired by Washington from the Arizona Coyotes.
Ducks Trade Heatley, Draft Pick To Panthers For Fleischmann
The Ducks announced today that the club has acquired left wing Tomas Fleischmann from the Panthers in exchange for left wing Dany Heatley and Anaheim’s third-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
Fleischmann, 30, has scored 122-182=304 points with 164 penalty minutes (PIM) in 567 career NHL games with Washington (2005-11), Colorado (2010-11) and Florida (2011-15). Fleischmann has also appeared in 29 career Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Capitals and Panthers, collecting 4-4=8 points.
Heatley, 34, was scoreless in six games with the Ducks this season. Signed by Anaheim as a free agent on July 9, 2014, Heatley also collected 2-5=7 points with eight PIM in 25 games with the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the AHL.
Hawks Send Draft Picks To Flyers For Timonen
The Blackhawks acquired Kimmo Timonen from the Flyers on Friday for a second-round draft pick in 2015 and a conditional fourth-round pick in 2016.
Timonen, who will turn 40 on March 18, has not played this season after doctors discovered blood clots in his lower right leg and in both lungs. He has been cleared for contact.
"Obviously this last summer when I got sick, I was back in Finland in a hospital bed, and they said you have to wait six months to see what's going to happen," Timonen told reporters on Friday night.
Panthers Trade Draft Picks To Devils For Jagr
The Panthers have acquired Jaromir Jagr from the Devils for a second-round draft pick in the 2015 NHL draft and a conditional third-round draft pick in the 2016 draft.
The trade was announced Thursday afternoon by both teams.
"We're headed in the right direction,'' said Florida GM Dale Tallon, whose team entered Thursday two points from the eighth and final playoff spot in the East race. "I'm excited about him coming here and just spending some time with him and watching him play. He's an exciting guy to watch play. He's still got it.''
Leafs Trade Clarkson To Jackets For Horton
David Nonis, Senior Vice President and GM of the Maple Leafs, announced Thursday that the club has acquired forward Nathan Horton from the Blue Jackets in exchange for forward David Clarkson.
Horton, 29, has not skated this season due injury (back). He has appeared in a total of 627 career NHL regular season games between Columbus, Boston and Florida, registering 421 points (203 goals, 218 assists). Horton has also skated in 43 career NHL playoff games, collecting 36 points (15 goals, 21 assists) while winning a Stanley Cup with the Bruins in 2011.
Leafs Send Abbott To Blackhawks For Brennan
David Nonis, Senior Vice President and GM of the Maple Leafs, announced Thursday that the club has acquired defenceman T.J. Brennan from the Blackhawks in exchange for forward Spencer Abbott. Brennan will report to the Toronto Marlies of the AHL.
Brennan, 25, has collected 36 points (9 goals, 27 assists) in 54 regular season games with the Rockford IceHogs (AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks) this season. The Willingboro, New Jersey native has registered 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in 40 career NHL games between the Sabres and Panthers.
Jackets Trade Cracknell To Blues For Future Considerations
The Blue Jackets have traded right wing Adam Cracknell to the Blues in exchange for future considerations, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Cracknell, 29, recorded an assist and two penalty minutes in 17 games with the Blue Jackets and added 3-4-7 and two penalty minutes in 18 games with the American Hockey League’s Springfield Falcons this season after being claimed off waivers from the Kings on October 7.
Jets Trade Two Draft Picks To Canes For Tlusty
The Jets acquired winger Jiri Tlusty from the Hurricanes on Wednesday in exchange for two draft picks, according to an ESPN.com report.
The Jets gave up a third-round pick in 2016 and a conditional sixth-rounder in 2015 in the deal.
Kings Send Prospect, Draft Pick To Hurricanes For Sekera
The Kings have acquired defenseman Andrej Sekera from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for prospect Roland McKeown and a conditional first round selection, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.
Sekera, 28, has played in 57 games with the Hurricanes this year and has 19 points (2-17=19) and eight penalty minutes.
The native of Bojnice, Slovakia has played for the Hurricanes and Buffalo Sabres during his nine-year NHL career.
